Hummels Figurines – Hummel Figurines’ Special Place in Your Home

I want to spotlight one of the famous collectible porcelain creator – Hummel. Hummels figurines are beautifully crafted by German artists and collected by people around the world. Known for porcelain figurines that portray the innocence of youth, the Master Artist of Goebel have been producing collectible porcelain figurines since 1937.

These collectible figurines are symbols of artistry and skill. A lot of people have a handful of them and I personally loved them. The cheery little faces, the clothes, and the colors.

The porcelain figurines are based on drawings and painting done by a German nun. Sister Maria Innocentia Hummel (she was born Berta Hummel) attended art school and then joined a convent. Although she died at age 37, her work lives on in the collectible porcelain.

What struck me most is the “Apple Tree Girl.” The amazing thing is that she could be sitting on an apple tree while sitting on a shelf in my living room. The coloring in this figurine is exquisite. The apples are delivered seamlessly.

From the collection of Hummels figurines, these are the most popular pieces. Top 1 is the “stars and stripes” figurine. It seems the only appropriate epitome is when you daydream on your rooftop searching for a falling star. Top 2 is the “Accordian boy” figurine which ofcourse brings back old jazz music in the air. To continue our musical theme, top 3 is the “cheerful tune” to go with the "Accordian boy". The colors are more muted in a cheerful manner and looks really pleasant.

Once you have purchased a few Hummels figurines, you would need a place to flaunt them somewhere in your home where your guests can admire them. They can be quite the conversation pieces. Some people use them as a focal point since these collectible figurines are truly a work of art and worth bragging for. You could arrange your collectible porcelains in groups around different areas of your home, and let the colors and shapes speak for themselves.

You may want to put a couple of porcelain figurines on a shelf in your bedroom that would match the decor like for instance, if your color scheme is red, a couple of different Hummels figurines with similar colors placed somewhere in the room would be beautiful. A shelf in the dining area or kitchen would be a nice place to display collectible porcelain as well. I prefer to see them placed around different rooms and blend in rather than a cabinet full of them in one place.

The Hummels figurine will always have a special place in my heart. These porcelain figurines remind me of minimalistic styles as well as of simpler times that gives a feeling of joy and contentment.
